Sixth Regional 3R forum for Asia and the pacific concluded today. This forum was held from 17-19 August 2015. 16th August 2015 was marked as the 3R Day. Various sessions of the forum were chaired by Cabinet Ministers of Maldives. The forum which was held for 03 days in Dharubaaruge was attended by 256 participants from different countries. In the closing ceremony, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Dhunya Maumoon and Minister of Finance and Treasury, Mr. Abdulla Jihad have participated.

In this forum, 08 major plenary sessions and 05 major thematic sessions and country breakout sessions were held. This include sessions on Construction and Demolition Waste and Special Session of SIDS – How 3R and Resource Efficiency can contribute towards the objectives and aspiration underlined in the SIDS Accelerated Modalities of Action (S.A.M.O.A) Pathway.

In the closing ceremony held at Dharubaaruge this afternoon, Minister of Environment and Energy, Mr. Thoriq Ibrahim adopted the Chair’s Summary with the Private Resorts’ 3R Declaration as an annex of the summary.

The Seventh regional 3R Forum for Asia and the Pacific is to be held in Adelade, Australia.
