Dissemination workshop for the study on “Effects of Climate Change on Children in the Maldives” held

Disseminating Workshop for the study on “Effects of Climate Change on Children in the Maldives” held today at Champa Central Hotel. The workshop was held organized by Ministry of Environment and Energy jointly with United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

In this workshop a total of 20 stakeholders from Government Organizations and Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) have participated.

Discussions were held regarding the impacts of Climate Change on children and the drafted report on the subject. The report was drafted after conducting a survey in 06 islands of Maldives. The survey was conducted in Addu city, Fuvahmulah city, HA. Thuraakunu, B. Hithaadhoo, ADH. Rasdhoo and HDH. Kulhudhuffushi. In the workshop, findings of Survey and Report were presented followed by discussions and comments of the participants.

Also, in this workshop the final report on ‘Impacts of Climate Change on Children’ was finalized after incorporating the ideas of the participants.
