Introduction
The Climate Data Portal (CDP) is a centralized digital platform being developed by the Climate Change Department of the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, in collaboration with the Utility Regulatory Authority (URA). The portal is designed to strengthen Maldives’ institutional capacity to collect, manage, and report climate-related data in a structured and transparent way. The portal is hosted and maintained by URA.
The portal was developed under the “Capacity Strengthening for Improved Transparency of Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Actions in the Maldives (CBIT Maldives)” project.
Purpose and Scope
The CDP supports national efforts to comply with the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF) under the Paris Agreement. It provides a single system through which agencies can systematically submit, validate, and store data across key climate reporting domains, including:
Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventory
Energy Balance
Tracking of Mitigation Actions
Tracking of Adaptation Actions
Climate Finance Data (support received and support needed)
