The Maldives National Chemical Profile launched

The Maldives National Chemical Profile was launched at a ceremony held at Champa Central Hotel today. The National Chemical Profile was launched by Minister of Environment and Energy, Mr. Thoriq Ibrahim. This report was incorporated from the collection of information regarding chemicals that are imported to Maldives. The report contains information regarding import, consumption, storing, moving, elimination methods of chemicals and standards used.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Environment and Energy, Mr. Thoriq Ibrahim highlighted on the importance of managing chemicals in Maldives and briefed on the information included in the National Chemical Profile.

This National Chemical Profile launched today will help to manage and standardize the use and elimination of chemicals in Maldives and also to protect the environment from the damage caused by waste and chemicals. The report launched today is the first report that includes information of different types of chemicals that are imported to Maldives.
