The Ministry of Tourism and Environment (MOTE) has signed a contract with Ritariworks Pvt Ltd to undertake the “Consultancy for Development of the GHG Inventory Database Management System” under the “Capacity Building for Improved Transparency of Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Actions in the Maldives” (CBIT Maldives) project.
The CBIT Maldives project is funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and executed by the Ministry, with implementation support from the United Nations Environment Programme (UN Environment). This consultancy forms a core part of the project’s Component 1, Output 1.2.
The objective of this consultancy is to develop a comprehensive GHG Inventory Database Management System that enables the efficient collection, storage, and harmonization of GHG data from multiple sources. The system will be robust, systematic, user-friendly, and designed to streamline future inventory processes.
The database will support national reporting under the UNFCCC and assist in the preparation of energy balance and sector-specific reports. The database will be hosted and maintained by the Utility Regulatory Authority (URA), strengthening institutional arrangements for transparency under the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF) of the Paris Agreement.
