Contract Awarded for the printing of Energy Efficiency Badge

The contract for printing the Energy Efficiency Badges was awarded to Mr. Ahmed Nasheed. Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Environment and Energy, Mr. Ajwad Musthafa signed the contract on behalf of the Ministry.
The purpose of consultancy assignment is to print 20,000 badges according to the specifications provided by the Ministry. The duration of the assignment is 50 calendar days upon signing the contract and the contract price for the consultancy service is worth MVR 120,600.
The printed badges will be distributed to the Maldives Girls Guide Association and The Scout Association of Maldives under the MoU signed between the Ministry and the associations on 15th March 2016. This MOU deals with learning and creating awareness on climate change and energy efficiency issues amongst the members of both uniform bodies.
This activity is carried out by “Strengthening Low Carbon Energy Island Strategies” project, which is implemented by Ministry of Environment and Energy (MEE) assisted by United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and financed by Government of Maldives and Global Environment Facility (GEF). The project aims to create awareness through the badge. The badge would provide information on energy efficiency and related information on electricity safety, energy auditing and greenhouse gas reduction.
