Contract signed to develop video spots on Climate Change and Energy Efficiency

Contract signed for the development of video spots on Climate Change and Energy Efficiency. The contract was awarded to Mr. Abdulla Yamin. Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Environment and Energy, Mr. Ajwad Musthafa signed the contract on behalf of the Ministry.

The contract worth MVR 100,000 is scheduled to be completed by September 2016. Under the contract four video spots will be developed to the following topics.

1. What is energy efficiency?
2. Air conditioner temperature setting?
3. Air conditioner maintenance?
4. How much energy is saved?

This activity is carried out by “Strengthening Low Carbon Energy Island Strategies” project, which is implemented by Ministry of Environment and Energy (MEE) assisted by United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and financed by Government of Maldives and Global Environment Facility (GEF). The project aims to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through energy efficiency in the building sector, increasing energy efficiency in the building sector by developing appropriate policies, guidelines and standards.
