Stakeholder Consultation Workshop on the Sixth National Report of Maldives to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity held

Stakeholder Consultation Workshop on the Sixth National Report of Maldives to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity was held today at Champa Central Hotel. This Report on Biological Diversity is prepared under national obligation to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity. Maldives became a party to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity in 1992.

This report is incorporated with the targets in terms of sustainable management of biological diversity and critical information on the implementation and progress of National Biodiversity Action Plan. It also includes the technical and scientific challenges faced in terms of implementing the National Biodiversity Action Plan.

This workshop was held with 30 participants from both private and public sector. These include Government institutions and non-governmental Organizations (NGOs).
