Contract signed for building coastal protection structures at Gaafu Dhaalu atoll Madaveli island

Contract signed with Maldives Transport and Contracting Company Plc (MTCC) for building coastal protection structures at Gaaf Dhaalu atoll Madaveli island. Minister of Environment and Energy, Mr. Thoriq Ibrahim signed the contract while the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MTCC, Mr. Ibrahim Ziyath signed the contract on behalf of the company.

The purpose of this project is to nourish, protect and prevent the areas of the island vulnerable to erosion from further deterioration. The project includes construction of 454.5 m rock revetment in Gahdhoo.

The proposed cost by the contractor for the project is MVR 13,547,085.06 and is expected to be completed in 150 days.

This is the fifth project of Coastal Protection in this year which is financed by the Government of Maldives.
