Contract awarded for the assessment and design of cost effective energy efficiency improvements

The contract for the Assessment and Design of Cost Effective, Energy Efficiency Improvements for selected Buildings has been awarded to Utilico Private Limited.

The contract was signed on 21st December 2017, at a ceremony held at the Auditorium, Ministry of Environment and Energy. Mr. Abdullahi Majeed, Minister of State for Environment and Energy signed the contract on behalf of the Ministry and Mr. Ali Ahsan, Managing Director signed the contract on behalf of Utilico Private Limited.

The objective of the assessment is to conduct detailed energy audits in selected buildings and design cost effective efficiency improvements. Recommendations on energy management practices and policies will be developed under the assessment, to improve energy management within government offices.

MVR 1,978,738.26 worth contract is to be completed within 5 months.

This activity is carried out by Ministry of Environment and Energy (MEE) under the project “Strengthening Low Carbon Energy Island Strategies (LCEI)”.

The LCEI project is implemented by MEE assisted by UN Environment and financed by the Global Environment Facility (GEF). The project aims to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through energy efficiency in the building sector through implementing appropriate regulations and policies.
