Contract signed for the development of an Energy Efficiency Toolkit for Girl Guides and Scouts in the Maldives

A contract has been signed for the development of an Energy Efficiency Toolkit for Girl Guides and Scouts in the Maldives.

The contract worth MVR 98,000 was awarded to Dr. Simad Saeed. Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Environment and Energy, Mr. Ajwad Musthafa signed the contract on behalf of the Ministry.

Under this contract four activity packs and four leader guides will be prepared in four categories. These will be utilized to increase the energy efficiency awareness of the Girl Guides and Scouts in the Maldives.

This activity is carried out by “Strengthening Low Carbon Energy Island Strategies” project, which is implemented by Ministry of Environment and Energy (MEE) assisted by United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and financed by Government of Maldives and Global Environment Facility (GEF). The project aims to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through energy efficiency in the building sector, increasing energy efficiency in the building sector by developing appropriate policies, guidelines and standards.
